Yoga

In order to experience the Vedic Truth, the Vedas emphasise Sadhana, which means spiritual practice. The peaceful and relaxed atmosphere at Vedic Valley is conducive to your sadhana, be it yoga, meditation or any other spiritual practice.

Vedic Valley offers you a unique experience of different traditional branches of Yoga including Bandhas, Yoga Nidra and Shatkarmas. Our experienced yoga teachers will assist you with a specific yoga schedule during your stay at Vedic Valley. You are welcome to participate in our regular meditation sessions and mantra practices, join in mudra yoga and pranayama exercises, and be introduced to yagyas and satsang with Master Anand. In this blissful environment, the practices will create an overall sense of well-being, radiant health and profound inner experience. Guests from outside the Vedic Valley can also take part in daily drop-in yoga classes, meditation sessions and workshops.

Yoga means ‘union’ of body, mind and soul. The knowledge of yoga originated with Lord Shiva, who passed it on to his wife Parvati and the Rishis, who passed it on through the oral tradition of yogis and gurus. The practice of yoga helps one to control the mind and senses so that the ego can be transcended and the true self, Atma, can be experienced. Yogic practice includes Yama – ethical discipline, Asanas – physical postures, Pranayam – breath control, Pratyahara – withdrawal of the senses, Dharana – concentration and Dhyana – meditation. It is a disciplined science that encompasses all aspects of life, leading us to heal the body, clear the mind and liberate the spirit.

Dhyana means contemplation and is an internal yoga practice that produces a state of stillness, pure awareness and bliss.

According to tradition, the release of the kundalini leads to enlightenment and union.

Mudra Yoga

In yoga, mudras are used with pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) to stimulate different parts of the body and affect the flow of prana (life energy) in the body. Mudras are tools to prepare the mind for meditation. Through these gestures we can communicate with the body and mind. In the Vedic Valley you can learn and experience secret mudras with our master. Master Anand learnt the traditional education and intense practice and realisation of Yoga, Mudra and Meditation from recognised Yogis and Ascetics in the Himalayas. He studied Bandha, Yoga Nidra and Shatkarma practices in Gangotri, the holy place where the Ganga River originates. He began teaching in Rishikesh in 1996 and in Austria in 2005.
