Sunset MeditationY – “to yoke or to unite”

O – Om, the spoken quintessence of the universe

G – Guru

A – Asana

Yoga means “union” between body, mind and soul. The knowledge of Yoga originated from Lord Shiva who passes it to his wife Parvati and the Rishis, further transmitted trough oral tradition of yogis and gurus. The practice of Yoga helps one to control the mind and senses, so the ego can be transcended and the true self Atma experienced. Yogic practice includes Yama- ethical discipline, Asanas- physical postures, Pranayam- breath control, Pratyahara-withdrawal of senses, Dharana- concentration and Dhyanam- Meditation. It is a disciplined science encompassing all aspects of life which lead us towards healing the body, clearing the mind and freeing the spirit.

Pranayama are breathing exercises helping to clear the Nadis, or channels that carry Prana the universal life force, allowing Prana to flow freely. When the nadis are clear and the last block at the base of the spine has been opened the Kundalini rises through the spine, through the central Nadi called the Sushumna- Nadi and joins the crown chakra.

According to tradition the release of the Kundalini leads to enlightenment and union.

Dhyana means contemplation and is an internal yoga practice producing a state of tranquility and pure consciousness and bliss.

Mudra Yoga – the Science of Gesture of the hands and fingersMudras

In Yoga, Mudras are used together with Pranayam (yogic breathing exercises) to stimulate different parts of the body and affect the flow of Prana (vital energie) and reflexes it to the brain. Mudras are instruments to prepare the mind for meditation. By this gestures we can talk to the body and mind. In Vedic Valley you can experience and study about secret Mudras with our Master.
